NDA SSB Experience

I am Dushyant, 19, and I now have no attempts left to appear for the NDA SSB. After my 12th standard, I took a drop to prepare for the NDA written exam and cleared it in September 2023. After clearing the written exam, I was called for the SSB at the Allahabad Centre (11 SSB). If you’re reading this, you must know about the basic procedure followed there. In my case, we reported at 0600 hrs, then had the OIR test followed by writing our story. Everything was going fine until we stood in line for the group discussion. I have very low confidence and was very nervous, and my nervousness peaked when my group was called in. You know what happened next—I was not able to perform well in the discussion, but I was very good in pronunciation.

In my second attempt, I went to 32 SSB Jalandhar, and the same story repeated. I didn’t utter a single word and got screened out again, all because of my low confidence. Now, I have joined college, am pursuing a BTech, and have joined NCC, trying to improve my confidence and lower my nervousness when facing serious situations. Hopefully, I will appear for the CDS in the upcoming attempt in April 2025. Thanks for reading.
