NIT Allahabad Tech Fest Experience (Avishkar)

Last Updated : 30 May, 2024

Hey! I am a second-year Chemical Engineering student who witnessed and participated in the Tech Fest of NIT Allahabad. 'Avishkar', the main Tech Fest, is divided into many sub-events according to branch, for example, the cyber quest for CSE students, Electromania for electronics, Rasayans for chemicals, Nirmaan for civil, and much more. At NIT Allahabad, MBA students also organize separate events under oligopoly and monopoly. They are totally finance and management-based.

Avishkar held in March, a 3-day fest in which inter-branch event participation was allowed, so I participated in 3 events of Cyber Quest, 2 events of Oligopoly, and, of course, all events of Rasayans.

Now most of you must be interested in learning about the Computer Science event at the Tech Fest of MNNIT, so I'll give info about it, and after that, I'll talk about Rasayans (my branch event under Avishkar).

So, starting with CyberQuest

There were 12 events total in which I participated in just 3. They were:

  • Tech Maiden
  • Code of the Day
  • Mathrush

The first event was for girl coders. In the second event, one coding question was given on coding ninjas, and we needed to solve that within 24 hours to come on the leaderboard. The last was held offline in a class, and proper sheets were provided to make all brain wires shortcircuited while solving those math questions and puzzles.

Other events like CSS Battle, Insomnia (the most famous), Design Rush, and Tux Wars target a niche.

They went well, but it just returned my participation. We are now talking about events in Rasayans. I participated in ChemExpo, Hazopium, Code-Indrome, Chemlethon, and the fun event Scavenger Hunt. ChemExpo was about building a model related to chemical engineering, in which the thought of participating remained a thought. Hazopium was about presenting on a topic allotted. My team's topic was Catalytic Converter, and we stood third in that.

Code-Indrome was tech-based, and I made a Power BI project to showcase India's statistics on waste generation. My team stood first in that. Chemlethon was a chemical core event, and it included proper OA, GDs, and interviews. I stood second in the software domain. The fun event Scavenger Hunt, in which my team was eliminated in the first round only (yes, it's a shame), was another enjoyable event.

At last, I went to participate in Management events and qualified for the second rounds for both events but due to my power pack schedule and participation exhaustion, I quit after the first round.

This was a brief description of the events of the tech festival, Avishkar. I will be grateful to my final-year seniors for the smooth conduct of this event.
