Accenture Interview Experience for ASE | On-campus

Last Updated : 30 Sep, 2024

Accenture visited our campus offering two exciting roles: Associate Software Engineer (ASE) with a package of 4.5 LPA, and Advanced Associate Software Engineer (AASE) with 6.5 LPA. Both positions followed the same hiring process.

Hiring Process

Accenture generally has 4 rounds all are elimination rounds except the communication round,

  1. Cognitive and Technical Assessment. (Aptitude, analytical and logical thinking, English ability, pseudocode, technical MCQs)
  2. Coding Round.
  3. Communication round.
  4. Virtual Interview.

Round 1: Cognitive and Technical Assessment

I had my first round on August 28, about a month after applying. The admit card was received two days prior. The test consisted of 90 MCQs in 90 minutes, divided into two main sections:

  1. Cognitive Section: English ability, logical reasoning, and abstract reasoning with about 50 questions.
  2. Technical Section: 18 pseudocode questions, 12 scenario-based Microsoft questions, and 10 scenario-based networking and security questions, totaling around 40 questions.

Pay special attention to the pseudocode questions as they can be time-consuming. Good practice and solving mock tests beforehand are extremely helpful. Overall, the difficulty was easy to moderate, and about 70% of students advanced to the next round. After completing both sections, the results were displayed after a 10-15 minute wait. Those who cleared the cutoff were immediately invited to the coding round, which took place the same day.

Prepare well for this round, as some questions can be tricky and time-consuming. I recommend solving at least 4-5 mock tests within the allotted time to be ready.

Round 2: Coding round

You have 2 Coding questions, 45 Minutes. In my case both the coding questions were easy. You should be good in basic programming and logic, Basic concepts like maths, arrays, loops, counting, maps, and strings will be enough. My first question was, 2 strings were given and you have to calculate the difference between no. of spaces in both. and state whether they are odd or even along with diff (e.g. Even4, Odd7). I did this in Javascript.

My second question was a moderate level where I was given an array of temperatures. and you have to find the longest monotonically decreasing subarray's length. I was easy too. and solved both the question. One who is slightly active on coding platform, will help you to get this round.

Round 3: Communication Round

It was virtual, non elimination round. I received communication round link after 2-3 days after Round 2. It was easy. You will have 3-4 sections

  • Read the sentence on screen.
  • Listen the sentence carefully and repeat.
  • Listen the story and answer the question, note the keywords.
  • You will be asked to give 45 second speech on random topic, with 30 minutes to think.

Even though its non-elimination round be serious, take this test at quiet place, use good quality headphones. Even slight background noise can make you to reappear the test, be clear and loud in speaking.

Round 4: Interview Round(Technical+ HR)

After a week on 5th sept, my interview was scheduled. You will receive slot confirmation, like a day before. Here i faced the problem, my interviewer didn't appeared for whole day. I was waiting in online call for whole day, but no one came. I was disappointed and raised a Ticket and reported TnP. Many of my friends, faced this issue of waiting in queue.

Fortunately, within a week Accenture rescheduled the interview of those who faced issue. This time I was calm, my interviewer was also good. He asked me few questions like

  • Introduce Yourself, education, skills, family, certifications etc.
  • About Projects.
  • Discussed about Hackathons and Team related questions.
  • Why particular Tech Stack.
  • How do you build network.
  • Questions related to Certifications.
  • Basic questions related to Accenture, why Accenture.
  • Ask any questions

For this round, be honest and confident. Prepare thoroughly, especially with scenario-based questions. While the interview focused more on communication and behavior than technical depth, it’s important to stay calm and composed.

Final Verdict: After 1 month of wait, I got selected.
