During an on-campus recruitment drive at my college, I had the opportunity to interview with a company that left me with a memorable experience. The entire process was structured in multiple stages, each designed to assess different skill sets, leading to my eventual success.
The recruitment process began with an offline aptitude test held in the digital center of my college. The test consisted of five sections:
The final section focused on computer applications. This test was the first filter, and students who passed the eligibility criteria were able to move on to the next stage.
After clearing the aptitude test, the next stage was a coding test that lasted 45 minutes. The test included two questions:
Completing this round qualified me for the next stage.
The verbal communication round was non-eliminative, meaning all students who passed the coding round could participate. The purpose of this round was to assess our communication skillsβan important aspect of a service-based company where client interaction is crucial.
The final stage of the recruitment process was a techno-managerial interview. This round began with the interviewer asking me to introduce myself, followed by a detailed discussion of one of the projects I had listed on my resume. The interviewer was curious as to why I chose to present that specific project over others.
During the discussion, I was asked about:
Following the technical questions, the interviewer shifted focus to behavioral questions. One key question was related to my academic background since my degree was in a field unrelated to the job I was applying for. I was asked to explain why I wanted to pursue this role despite my specialization.
The interview concluded with questions about my hobbies and interests, assessing my ability to balance technical skills with personal development. Throughout the interview, the focus remained on my ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate a clear understanding of technical conceptsβa critical requirement for this service-based company.
After 10 days of waiting, I received an email informing me that I had been selected for the job! This journey taught me the importance of balancing technical proficiency with strong communication skills, especially when working in a service-oriented environment.
