Bank Of America visited our campus for a recruitment drive, providing an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their skills and secure positions in their esteemed organization.
Firstly, the online assessment (OA) was conducted two weeks before the interview, and there were 5 tasks:
- Skill Alignment: A question asking how your skills align with the company (record your video).
- Coding Question (Easy): An easy coding question.
- Coding Question (Medium): A medium-difficulty coding question.
- Explanation Video: You had to explain the third coding question in a video (record yourself).
- Similar to Question 1: Another question similar to the first one, is about skills alignment.
Out of , but it was unclear what criteria were used. I was one of the selected students, though I had no idea on what basis they made their decision.
Interview Day
On the interview day, we were asked to reach the college at 9:30 a.m. sharp. However, we ended up wasting 2 hours just waiting around, as the interviews only started at 11 a.m. The entire process felt random. Some students were selected after only one round, while others went through two rounds but still weren’t selected.
My Interview Experience
For me, there were two rounds:
Round 1
- Introduction: Basic introduction.
- Project Explanation: I explained my projects.
- Technologies Used: They only asked whether I knew the technologies or not.
- C vs C++: Difference between C and C++.
- Computer Network Definition: Asked to define computer networks.
- IP vs MAC: Difference between IP and MAC addresses.
- Types of IP: Question about different types of IP addresses.
- Bits in IP and MAC: Asked how many bits are in an IP address and MAC address.
- Communication Between Computers: If 5 computers are connected, how do they communicate with each other?
- Cybersecurity: What is cybersecurity and why do we need it?
- Hobbies: General question about hobbies.
- Favorite Singer: Asked who my favorite singer is.
- Previous Interviews: Whether I had given any other interviews before this one.
- Questions for the Interviewer: Finally, they asked if I had any questions for them.
Round 2
- Introduction: Started with a basic introduction.
- Project Explanation: Explained my projects in detail.
- Language Preference Question:
- Since I had made some projects in Python and others in JavaScript, I was asked which language I would choose and why.
- Scenario Question:
- "There are 25,000 employees working globally, and 15,000 of them experience software crashes. How would you provide a solution? Which technology would you use, and where?"
- Startup Question:
- "If you were to start a company 15 years from now, what kind of startup would it be? It should be profitable for you and beneficial for the company."
- Any Questions for Him:
- Finally, he asked if I had any questions for him.
- That was it for the second round.
After my interview, they made us wait for a long time. My interview was completed by 12:30 p.m., but I stayed at the college until 4 p.m., only to be told to go home. Later in the evening, they announced that only 11 students had been selected, and I still don't know what criteria they used or how they made their selections. Results were out at 7 pm evening.
That day felt very unfair to me because my second-round interviewer had given me positive feedback without me even asking and still I got Rejected !!
It just goes to show that no matter how hard you work or how much you pray, if it's bad luck, nothing can help you.
Anyway, good luck to all of you...!!!is
