Recruitment Overview Process

Round 1: Initial Screening

The process started with resume shortlisting, followed by an initial assessment that consisted of three rounds:

1. Communication Round
2. Aptitude Round
3. Technical Assessment

In the technical assessment, I faced:

• 2 SQL-based questions
• 2 coding questions (related to the CyberSecurity cluster I had selected)
• 1 web development-related scenario

Scoring well across these rounds led to my shortlisting for the interview stages.

Round 2: Technical Interview

Duration: 30 minutes
Mode: Online (Cognizant’s proprietary virtual interview platform)
Cluster Chosen: CyberSecurity

The interview began with identity verification and environment checks. It was conducted over a secure video platform with screen sharing enabled throughout.

Questions Asked:

• What does public static void main mean and why is it declared that way?
• Difference between ArrayList and LinkedList
• Interface vs Abstract Class – when to use which
• Java program to add elements to an ArrayList and remove duplicates
• Several follow-up questions from the content of my resume
• Basic understanding of AWS services like EC2 and S3
• Concepts related to TCP/IP networking model
• Questions on availability to join by a certain date and readiness to relocate

Final Outcome

The interview process was smooth, and I managed to answer most of the technical questions confidently. Although I didn’t receive the final offer, the experience prepared me well for future virtual interviews.
