Deloitte Analyst Interview Experience (On Campus)

Last Updated : 2 Dec, 2024

I had the opportunity to participate in the hiring process conducted by Deloitte at SASTRA Deemed University, Tanjore for the roles of Analyst and Cyber Security. Here’s a detailed account of my journey through the selection process.

Eligibility Criteria

  • CGPA: Minimum of 6.0
  • Backlogs: No active backlogs

Round 1: Online Assessment

The first round was an online assessment that tested:

  • Aptitude: Quantitative, Verbal, and Non-Verbal Reasoning
  • Coding: Two basic-level coding problems

Out of approximately 700 participants, 127 candidates were shortlisted for the next round.

Round 2: Online Interview

The interview was conducted on the company’s official platform, where candidates were assigned specific time slots. However, I faced a two-hour wait due to scheduling delays. Additionally, connectivity issues on the interviewer’s end caused a couple of interruptions before the session stabilized.

Introduction

The interview started with a self-introduction, where I discussed my educational background and experiences at SASTRA Deemed University.

Technical Questions

The interviewer then asked about my mini-project:

  1. What was your project?
I explained the project’s objectives, tools, technologies, challenges, and my contributions.
  2. What would you like to change in the project?
  3. What technical difficulties did you face?
  4. How could you improve it?

Behavioral Questions

The interviewer assessed my teamwork and problem-solving skills with the following questions:

  1. What difficulties have you faced working in a team, and how did you resolve them?
  2. What does success mean to you?
  3. Have you ever faced failure? How did you overcome it?
  4. How do you approach achieving a goal?
  5. Why should we not hire you?
  6. Do you plan to pursue a master’s degree?
  7. Are you comfortable reporting to someone younger than you?

Coding Question

The final part of the technical round included a coding problem using the inbuilt compiler:
Problem: Minimum steps to climb a staircase (similar to problems on GeeksforGeeks or Leetcode).

Final Thoughts

Participating in the hiring process conducted by Deloitte was an insightful and rewarding experience. Despite the delays and technical issues, the process was comprehensive, allowing me to showcase my technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

This experience highlighted the importance of preparation, adaptability, and confidence in handling real-world challenges. It was a privilege to represent SASTRA Deemed University and take part in this opportunity.
