Deloitte USI visited our campus in August 2024 to recruit for the role of Analyst. The process was thorough and well-structured, testing candidates on multiple skills. Here's an overview of the placement drive, my experience, and tips for aspiring candidates.
The placement process consisted of three stages:
Most applicants cleared this round, making it an inclusive start to the process.
Platform: HirePro
The assessment was divided into timed sections, each testing a specific skill area. On average, about one minute was allotted per question, with 20 minutes set aside for two coding problems.
I managed to solve almost all MCQs and both coding questions, finishing with 6-7 minutes to spare.
Results: Out of around 300 applicants, 49 students were shortlisted. I was fortunate to be one of them.
Tip: Speed and accuracy are critical. Proper time management can make a significant difference in this round.
The final stage of the process began with a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) by the Deloitte USI team. Eleven senior employees shared insights into the company's culture, values, and opportunities.
Tip: Take notes during the PPT. Referencing the company’s values or panel introductions during your interview shows genuine interest.
After a short break, one-on-one interviews began. Each interviewer's approach varied—some focused on HR questions, while others emphasized technical skills. My interview focused entirely on technical topics.
At the end of the interview, I asked the interviewer about his role and responsibilities, which he explained in detail. The session lasted about 50 minutes.
Tip: Be confident, know your projects thoroughly, and don’t lie on your resume.
Results: The results were announced the same day, and I was selected!
The Deloitte USI placement drive was a demanding yet rewarding experience. It provided insights into my technical abilities and taught me the importance of preparation, confidence, and adaptability. While the day was long and tiring, the joy of being selected made it all worth it!
