Embarking on the path to becoming a Software Development Engineer-I at Flipkart was a multi-stage adventure that began with a simple application through LinkedIn Jobs.
Coding Challenges: The assessment featured two coding problems—one stack-based and the other on Dynamic Programming. I navigated through both, articulating my logic and securing success in all test cases.
Project Discourse: The interview unfolded with a review of my projects and professional background, followed by coding challenges. Adhering to a non-disclosure agreement, I can share that the problems tackled stack applications in strings and efficient product shipping using a generic tree.
Design and Implementation: This round was a blend of low-level design—akin to crafting backend APIs—and practical coding, where I devised an autocomplete feature for text applications. Dialogue with the interviewer was key, as we explored various solutions and design tenets.
Final Evaluation: The concluding interview was an in-depth discussion about my work experiences and projects, capped with a coding exercise on binary tree traversal.
Triumphant Result: About a week following the final interview, I received the much-anticipated email from Flipkart, confirming my selection as an SDE-I—a moment of pure elation and gratitude.
