Genpact Interview Experience For Software Developer

In September 2022, Genpact conducted a recruitment drive for our college. The recruitment drive aimed to hire for a software developer role. There were four rounds for this recruitment.

Round 1: Online Aptitude Test

The first round was an online aptitude test. duration for the test was 6o minutes. This test assesses various skills, including quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability, and technical knowledge. I was selected for a further round.

Round 2: Group discussion

The interviewers formed a team of 10 members for the Group Discussion (GD). The topic given to us was "Startup Ecosystem in India". We were given a couple of minutes to think about the topic before the discussion began. During this time, I quickly outlined my key points and thought about various dimensions of the topic.

This was the elimination round. From our team, they selected 6 candidates out of 10.

Round 3: Technical Interview

There were 2 members in this round. This round lasted for 25 minutes. First, they asked me to introduce myself. Then they asked me about my preferred language, so I told Java then they started asking a series of questions about Java and other computer-related subjects.

What are the four main principles of OOP? Can you explain each one?
How do you achieve encapsulation in Java? Provide an example.
Explain the significance of the 'static' keyword in Java.
What is the difference between a thread and a process in Java?
What are the projects you have done?
Asked me what React is.
React is a framework or a library?
What is DBMS?
What are Acid properties?
Tell the name of layers in the TCP/IP protocol.

During the interview, make sure to answer each question confidently and clearly. provide examples or explanations where necessary. It's also essential to demonstrate an understanding of the topics and the ability to articulate your thoughts effectively.
