Infosys Interview Experience 2024 | System Engineer | On-Campus

Last Updated : 22 Nov, 2024

Two months ago, I received an email from my college to register for the Infosys recruitment process. After completing the registration, a month later, I received another email from Infosys Talent Acquisition, nominating me and my friends from our college to register on their portal.

One month after this, we received the test details from both the college placement cell and Infosys. A 20-minute Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) session was held to brief us about the role and the structure of the recruitment process.

Round 1: Online Assessment

The first round was an Online Assessment designed to evaluate candidates across a variety of skills.

Topics Covered:

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Numerical Solving
  • English Ability
  • Essay Writing
  • Pattern Solving
  • Gamified Assessment

Test Structure:

  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Questions: 50 (no negative marking, no section-wise time limit)
  • Conducted in two slots for our college.

Results:

The results were announced at 11:30 PM, and interviews were scheduled for the next day. Out of 780 students who appeared for the assessment, only 103 students advanced to the interview round.

Round 2: Interviews (Technical + HR)

The interview round began at 8 AM and followed a First-Come-First-Serve order.

Process:

1. Document Verification: Before entering the interview room, resumes were collected for reference.

2. Interview Setup: Conducted as a 1:1 interaction (one interviewer and one candidate).

Interview Experience:

The interview started with an informal discussion and gradually transitioned to technical topics.

Initial Questions:

  • About my hometown and its specialties.
  • My interests, likes, and dislikes.

Technical Questions:

  • NumPy and Pandas: Asked about the libraries and their functionalities.

Project Discussion:

  • Details about the projects I had completed.
  • Challenges faced while working in a team.
  • Proposed improvements to the existing technology.
  • How current technology helped me in my projects.

Internship Experience:

Discussion about my internship project and key takeaways.

  • SQL Skills: Asked to demonstrate my knowledge of SQL.
  • Resume Topics: Tested on technical skills mentioned in my resume.

Concluding the Interview:

The interviewer asked if I had any questions for them, giving me an opportunity to interact further.

Duration:

  • My interview lasted 30 minutes.
  • Some of my friends had interviews lasting 15 minutes, while others had sessions that extended up to 40-45 minutes.
