Infosys Interview Experience For Java Developer (2 Years Experience) | December 2024

Last Updated : 21 Mar, 2025

Hello Everyone,

I know that if you've landed on this page, you might be feeling a bit anxious or worried about your upcoming interview. I’ve been there too! Let me share my experience with you to help ease your concerns and give you a better idea of what to expect.

I have 2 years of experience as a Java Developer, and I recently appeared for an interview at Infosys.

Here’s how my journey went.

Application Process

I applied for the Java Developer position at Infosys, and after two weeks, I received an email asking me to select an interview slot. However, after submitting my availability, I didn’t receive any response. Two weeks later, I got the same email again, asking me to choose an interview slot.

After doing so, I finally received a call from the recruiter 10 days later, inviting me for an in-person technical interview (Round 1) at their office in Hyderabad.

I was asked to report at 9 AM, my interview was conducted at 3 PM.

Technical Round 1 (Face-to-Face)

Questions Asked:

  1. Self-introduction
  2. Asked about the projects I worked on
  3. How multi-threading was implemented in my project and an explanation of its implementation
  4. Few Java questions
  5. A few Spring Boot questions
  6. Given example tables and asked to write an SQL query
  7. I asked a few questions about SQL
  8. Why Infosys?
  9. Why should we select you?
  10. What makes you different from others?
  11. If after joining Infosys, there are no projects and you are on the bench, would you regret your decision to join?
  12. Few other related behavioral questions

At the end of the interview, the interviewer asked if I had any questions, and I took the opportunity to ask a few questions about the company.

Duration: 45 minutes

📢 Outcome: After two weeks, I received a call informing me that I was selected for Round 2, which was a virtual technical round.

Technical Round 2 (Virtual)

Questions Asked:

  1. Self-introduction
  2. Few Java-related questions
  3. Spring Boot questions
  4. Multi-threading questions
  5. JUnit-related questions
  6. Asked if I had ever interacted with a client or joined client calls
  7. Asked whether I would be able to discuss anything with the client and handle client meetings

Duration: 30 minutes

📢 Outcome: The next day, I received a call informing me that I was rejected but could reapply after six months.

My Thoughts on the Experience

Overall, my experience was good and positive. However, as a junior Java Developer, I never had the opportunity to interact with clients or join client meetings in my previous company. Based on my understanding, I answered all the technical questions correctly, so I assumed that my rejection might have been due to my lack of client interaction experience. There could have been other factors as well, such as the interviewer not being fully impressed with my answers.

At the end of the day, interviews are a learning experience, and I’ll take this as an opportunity to improve and prepare better for future opportunities.

If you’re preparing for an Infosys Java Developer interview, I hope my experience helps you!

All the best for your interview! 💪✨
