Infosys Interview Experience | System Engineer | Full Time 2024-25

Last Updated : 16 Dec, 2024

I recently participated in the Infosys System Engineer interview process, which was conducted over two days on our college campus. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my experience:

Day 1: Aptitude Test

The first day began with an online aptitude test, comprising seven sections:

  1. Numerical Ability
  2. Logical Reasoning
  3. English Grammar
  4. Pseudo Code
  5. Puzzles
  6. Verbal Ability
  7. Essay Writing (200 words)

The test was well-structured and challenging, requiring strong skills in aptitude and language. Results were announced the same day, and shortlisted candidates advanced to the next stage.

Day 2: Interview

The interview focused entirely on the resume and was divided into three segments: Technical, HR, and Situational Questions. The interviewer was friendly, making the process smooth and comfortable.

Technical Questions

Introduction: The interview started with a self-introduction.

Internship Experience: I was asked about my work experience during my internship, as mentioned in my resume.

Project Discussion:

  • The interviewer asked in-depth questions about the projects I listed, including several cross-questions.

Programming Languages:

As I mentioned C++ as my primary language but included Python, the questions revolved mostly around Python:

  • Why is # used in Python?
  • What is hatch() in Python?
  • Concepts of OOPs:
  • What is Abstraction?
  • What is a Constructor?
  • What is Inheritance, and what are its types?
  • Difference between C++ and Python.

I was also asked if I’d be willing to shift to a new technical language if required, to which I confidently answered "Yes."

HR and Situational Questions

The HR segment included:

  1. Why do you want to join Infosys?
  2. Are you flexible to work in any location?
  3. Three situational questions to assess decision-making and adaptability.

Ending the Interview

The interview concluded with the interviewer asking if I had any questions. I asked a meaningful question about Infosys's recent initiatives, leaving a positive impression before we wished each other and ended the session.
