ION Group Interview Experience for SDE (On-Campus) 2022

ION Group visited our campus for recruitment for a Developer Role. There was a total of five rounds of online tests and interviews.

Round 1: It was an online test conducted on the HackerEarth platform consisting of 15 MCQs and 2 Programming Questions.

 After the first round, 161 students were shortlisted for the interview process.

Round 2: It was a puzzle and coding-based interview, including core computer subjects.

The interviewer started with a project discussion, and he asked me about my favorite subjects. Afterward, he started asking me about types of data structures. Some questions are:

  • What is a dynamic array, and how is it different from a static array?
  • Code to allocate memory on the heap?
  • What do you understand by STL? He asked some advanced ques about STL.
  • Asked ques about Tries and Maps
  • Some time complexities.
  • Hashing concepts.
  • Different codes detect and remove loops in the linked list.
  • Implementation of Vector class and all the functionalities.
  • Different approaches to finding the third largest number in a large dataset.
  • Some advanced OOPs concepts.
  • Some basic OS questions.

Only 55 students were shortlisted for the second round.

Round 3: It was a case study round, where the interviewer gave me a case study of  Big Bazar and asked me to help the company to increase its profit during Covid times.

Round 4: It was completely a resume-based round. We discussed my projects in detail and my College Club activities, and some HR questions. (Not an HR Round). Also, the interviewer asked me about advanced C++ concepts like lambda function and some indirect ques about Smart Pointers.

Round 5: It was a group meeting with the country head of the company where we were asked to introduce ourselves. It was a personal know-how round. It was also an eliminatory round. We have given some exciting activities also.

At last, 10 students got an offer from the company, and I was one of them.
