Selection Process at ION

This year, I had the opportunity to participate in the selection process at ION. The rounds are detailed below:

1. Online Assessment (120 minutes) -23 July 2024

The online assessment was a challenging start to the selection process, lasting approximately 2 hours and there were 24 questions 22 MCQ and 2 coding questions. It tested a broad range of skills and knowledge, featuring medium to hard-level questions across several key areas of computer science. The questions covered topics such as Computer Science Fundamentals, Database Management Systems (DBMS), Operating Systems (OS), and Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). The programming questions were particularly demanding, requiring efficient coding solutions under time constraints.

2. Technical Round(50-60 minutes) - 25 July 2024

The first technical interview lasted around 60 minutes and began with a brief introduction about myself, followed by the both the interviewer’s introduction. The interview started with puzzles, “Camel and the Bananas and Find the box which contains Box of 11 gm Cigarettes”. The conversation then transitioned into a deep dive into the projects listed on my resume. I was asked to explain a web application project in detail. The interviewers tested my understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles like polymorphism and types of inheritance, and also asking me to explain the four pillars of OOP and demonstrate how I applied these concepts in practical scenarios. Additionally, the interview included questions on core Java like Inheritance and its difference with Abstract Classes as I mentioned it in my resume.

Overall, the process was thorough and insightful, providing a deep dive into my skills but I could not clear the first interview round.
