Josh Technology Group Interview Experience for Frontend Developer (2024 On-Campus Opportunity)

Last Updated : 23 Jul, 2025
Total Rounds: 9 (4 Rounds – Home/College, 5 Rounds – Gurugram Office)

My interview experience for the role of Frontend Developer at Josh Technology Group was an extensive process, consisting of 9 rounds, split between online and in-person assessments.

Round 1: 50 MCQs

  • Topics Covered:
    • 10 questions on C/C++
    • 40 questions on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Time Limit : 1 hour
  • Place : Virtual (Home)
  • Date : 2 August, 2024 (4 pm)

This round tested both language fundamentals and web development topics. It was a balanced mix of core concepts and specific frontend knowledge.

Round 2: Online DSA Round

  • Questions:
    1. https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/dsa/find-a-peak-in-a-given-array/
    2. https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/dsa/form-minimum-number-from-given-sequence/
  • Time Limit : 1 hour
  • Place : Virtual (College)
  • Date : 8 August, 2024 (4 pm)

Despite solving only one of the two questions, I advanced to the next round. However, it was confusing as some peers who solved both did not progress.

Round 3: Personality and Verbal Test

This was a non-technical round that assessed personality traits and communication skills. It was straightforward and didn’t pose much difficulty.

Time Limit : 45 minutes

Place : Virtual (College)

Date : 8 August, 2024 (5:45 pm)

Round 4: Website Development Task

  • Task: Build a portfolio website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Timeframe: 1 week.
  • Reference: A Figma design provided by the company.
  • Date : 21 August, 2024 - 28 August, 2024.

This round tested both design implementation and frontend skills.

Round 5: DSA-based Round (Face-to-Face)

This was the first round held at the company's Gurugram office.

  • Questions:
    1. Return the sum of 4 smallest numbers in an array. Example : Input : [7, 2, 4, 1, 5, 9, 3] output : 10 ( Expected Time Complexity :- O(n) and Space Complexity :- O(1))
    2. Same this question :- https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/dsa/segregate-even-and-odd-numbers/ but, one change was that order should remain same after segregation and the expected time complexity should be O(n) and expected space complexity should be O(1) and you can't use any STL (even in every DSA round you can't use STL)
  • Time : 1 hour
  • Place : Virtual (On-Site)
  • Date : 30 August, 2024 (9 am)

Despite solving one of the questions, I was rejected while others, who didn’t solve any, advanced. This round was particularly frustrating as I felt there was some unfairness in the selection process. Additionally, the HR accused me of cheating, which was disheartening.

I noticed that 35 out of the 40 students shortlisted were from just two colleges, making me feel that institutional bias played a role in the selection process.

Round 6: Website Development Assignment

This round was similar to Round 4, where we were asked to build another website.

Time : 2-3 hours

Place : Virtual (On-Site)

Date : 30 August, 2024 (1 pm)

Rounds 7 & 8: Technical Interviews

These were in-depth technical interviews focused on frontend development, assessing knowledge of core HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frontend frameworks.

Place : Face to Face (On-Site)

Date : 30 August, 2024

Round 9: HR Round

The final round was an HR interview that covered standard discussions about the company, the role, and general formalities.

Place : Face to Face (On-Site)

Date : 30 August, 2024

Note : They called about 40 students for on-site rounds and Round 5 - 9 happens on a single day in the company's office itself. The whole process concluded around 11 pm on the same day (30 August, 2024).

Final Thoughts

This interview process was a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Although I was disappointed with how things turned out, particularly due to institutional bias and the HR’s behavior, it was an insightful experience. It taught me the importance of resilience and highlighted the fact that sometimes external factors play a significant role, even when you perform well.

To anyone preparing for this position: stay prepared, stay focused, and remember, your effort matters regardless of the outcome. Keep pushing forward and learn from every experience.
