MAH MCA CET 2022 Exam Experience and Tips

I took the MAH MCA CET in 2022 and I got a percentile score of 92.130. The experience was good. This exam is a little different from other exams. It uses a normalized scoring system.

Exam Structure

The exam was online. It had 100 choice questions. We had to finish these in 90 minutes. The paper had four parts:

1. Mathematics And Statistics had 30 questions
2. Logical/Abstract Reasoning had 30 questions
3. English Comprehension And Verbal Ability had 20 questions
4. Computer Concepts had 20 questions

Each correct answer was worth 2 marks. There was no marking. So we could try questions without worrying.

Preparation Strategy

The MAH MCA CET had a mix of Maths, Reasoning, English and Computer Science. So I prepared for all these parts. I did the following things:

1. I made sure my basics in Mathematics and reasoning were strong
2. I revised the Computer Science concepts
3. I practiced questions to get faster

The key was to prepare for all parts and not just focus on one. I also made sure my answers were correct.

Normalization Process

One important thing to know about MAH CET exams is the normalization process. This means they use a percentile-based scoring system. Since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions, the scores are normalized to ensure fairness across all sessions. Your percentile depends not only on your score but also on the performance of other candidates. Sometimes, even a moderate score can result in a good percentile if the paper is relatively difficult.

Exam Day Experience

On the exam day I tried to answer many questions as I could. There was no marking. I started with the parts like reasoning and computer concepts. Then I moved to Mathematics and English. I had to manage my time. If I was not prepared, switching between types of questions could waste my time.

Mistakes To Avoid

1. Read the questions carefully in Maths and reasoning
2. Do not ignore any part. This is a paper
3. Do not spend much time on one question
4. Do not depend on just one exam. Take many exams
5. Focus on getting the answers even though there is no negative marking

Final Outcome

I got a percentile of 92.130, this was my score. Since the result is normalized the percentile is more important than the marks. The MAH MCA CET is a balanced exam. It tests how smart you are and how well you understand the subject. If you prepare well manage your time and answer the questions smartly you can do well. You should know how the normalization works.
