My Experience at the One-Day DSA Workshop by GeeksforGeeks (Nation SkillUp)

Last Updated : 16 Dec, 2025

I recently had the opportunity to attend a one-day Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) workshop conducted by GeeksforGeeks under the Nation SkillUp initiative, and it turned out to be a highly insightful and value-packed learning experience.

The workshop was thoughtfully designed to strengthen the core foundations of DSA, which are essential for problem-solving, competitive programming, and technical interviews. The session focused on key concepts such as Searching Algorithms, Time Complexity analysis, and Arrays, explaining not just how algorithms work, but also why certain approaches are more efficient than others.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the clear and structured explanation of Time Complexity. Understanding how to analyze an algorithm’s performance helped me gain better clarity on choosing optimal solutions instead of relying on brute-force approaches. The discussion around searching techniques made it easier to compare linear and efficient methods, reinforcing the importance of algorithmic thinking.

This workshop gave me greater confidence in approaching DSA problems, improved my logical thinking, and motivated me to practice more consistently. It also reaffirmed how crucial strong DSA fundamentals are for anyone aspiring to build a career in software development, AI/ML, or competitive coding.

I am grateful to the GeeksforGeeks team and Sandeep Jain Sir for organizing such an impactful learning event. Overall, the one-day DSA workshop was a meaningful step in my upskilling journey, and I look forward to applying these concepts in my future projects and coding challenges.

The workshop was led by Deva Sir, whose guidance and mentoring made complex topics feel approachable. His way of connecting theory with real-world coding scenarios helped bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application. The interactive nature of the session kept the learning engaging throughout the day.
