Hello everyone! I am excited to share my interview experience with HashedIn by Deloitte, for an Intern + Full-Time Employment (FTE) offer through an on-campus drive. The entire process was quite challenging but also a great learning experience. I hope my journey helps future aspirants prepare better for their interviews.
The recruitment process consisted of four rounds:
The first round was an online coding test focused on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). The test was 90 minutes long and included three problems of varying difficulty levels:
Since DSA is a key area for most technical interviews, I practiced a lot of problems from Leetcode and GFG, which helped me perform well in this round.
As my resume was focused on Web Development, I requested the interviewer to conduct my interview based on my skills rather than DSA questions. The interviewer agreed and asked me various conceptual and coding-based questions:
1. Difference between a Web Server and a Socket Server
2. Different HTTP methods in Node.js
3. What is multifactoring in Java?
4. Explain closures in JavaScript
5. How to implement API calls in JavaScript?
6. Encapsulation and its significance
7. What is abstraction? Provide a real-life example
8. Can we create objects in JavaScript?
9. Can we implement OOPs concepts in JavaScript?
1. Merge two sorted arrays while maintaining order (Merge function from Merge Sort)
2. Implement a queue using an array (Enqueue and Dequeue operations)
βA man has a lion, a goat, and grass on one side of a river. He has a boat and needs to get all three to the other side safely. How can he do it?β
The puzzle was fun, and I was able to solve it with some hints from the interviewer.
Since I had showcased React.js and OOPs-based projects, the interviewer deep-dived into my knowledge of these domains.
1. Explain setter and getter functions in C++
2. What is polymorphism? Implement it using C++
3. Draw the UI of one of your projects
4. How did you implement multiple pages in a React.js website?
5. How can you render multiple images inside a component without repeating the <img> tag?
6. Write code for implementing React Router
7. What are React Hooks?
8. What is the dependency array in useEffect Hook?
9. How can we stop useEffect from running repeatedly?
1. Write the code for a Card Component in your project
2. Write the parent component from which the Card Component is rendered
3. Different methods for API calling in React.js
4. Write an async/await function for API calls in React.js
5. Write the code for K rotations on a sorted array
I made sure to explain my thought process clearly while writing code. The interviewer was very interactive and gave real-world scenarios to understand my approach better.
Since it was an on-campus physical recruitment drive, we were all quite exhausted by the time we reached the HR round. The HR was friendly and engaging, making the conversation comfortable.
1. How is your day going?
2. Are you tired?
3. How satisfied are you with the recruitment process?
4. How were your interviewers? Were they friendly?
5. What are some recent discoveries in your life that impact your daily routine?
6. Why do you want to join HashedIn by Deloitte?
7. If another company offers the same package, will you accept our offer?
8. What is your fatherβs occupation?
9. How many members are there in your family?
10. Do you have any family responsibilities?
I ensured that my answers were honest and confident, which helped me leave a good impression.
Just 10 minutes after my HR round, the recruitment team announced the results, and I was selected for an Internship + Full-Time Employment offer at HashedIn by Deloitte! It was a moment of joy and relief after a long and challenging process.
The entire HashedIn by Deloitte recruitment process was a great learning experience. It tested my problem-solving, technical knowledge, and communication skills. I hope this article helps future aspirants who are preparing for similar opportunities.
