Exam Details

Exam: SSC CHSL (10+2) Tier-I

Year: 2023

Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Duration: 60 minutes

Total Questions: 100

Total Marks: 200

Exam Centre Experience

My exam was conducted at a digital examination center in Tamil Nadu. I reached the center before the reporting time to avoid last-minute stress.

Entry Process:

Verification of admit card and valid ID proof

Biometric attendance (fingerprint and photograph)

Strict checking (no electronic items allowed)

The staff were well-organized, and the process was smooth. Candidates were guided properly to their respective systems.

System & Interface

The computer system was working properly without any lag

Instructions were clearly displayed before the exam

A timer was available on the screen

Questions could be navigated easily

Overall, the interface was simple and user-friendly.

Exam Pattern

The paper consisted of four sections:

English Language

General Intelligence (Reasoning)

Quantitative Aptitude

General Awareness

Each section had 25 questions carrying 2 marks each.

Section-wise Difficulty Level

English Language – Easy to Moderate

Questions were mostly from grammar and vocabulary

Reading comprehension was manageable

Error detection and fill in the blanks were common

This section was scoring with basic preparation.

General Intelligence – Easy

Questions were straightforward

Topics included analogy, coding-decoding, and series

No lengthy or tricky puzzles

This was the easiest section in my exam.

Quantitative Aptitude – Moderate

Required more time compared to other sections

Questions from percentage, ratio, and arithmetic topics

Some calculations were time-consuming

Accuracy and practice are key here.

General Awareness – Moderate

Mix of current affairs and static GK

Questions from history, polity, and science

Some questions were difficult to guess

Regular revision is important.

My Attempt Strategy

I followed this order:

  1. English
  2. Reasoning
  3. Quantitative Aptitude
  4. General Awareness

This helped me:

  • Save time
  • Build confidence early
  • Allocate more time to calculation-based questions

Good Attempts

  • Attempted around 75–85 questions
  • Focused more on accuracy rather than guessing

Syllabus Overview

Preparation Tips

Post-Exam Reflection
