Recently, NICE visited my campus to recruit for the position of Associate Software Engineer.
Company Criteria
● 10th & 12th Grade: 60% and above
● CGPA: 6.82 and above (No active backlogs)
Selection Process
- Online Test
- Technical Interview
- Managerial Interview
- HR Interview
Online Test
The online test was conducted on the Interview Mocha platform and lasted for 100 minutes, consisting of 7 sections. Please note that there was a negative marking.
Quantitative Aptitude: 15 MCQs (10 minutes)
- Java: 6 MCQs (10 minutes)
- DBMS: 6 MCQs (10 minutes)
- Data Structures: 1 coding question (25 minutes; any coding language)
- Java Coding: 1 coding question (25 minutes; must be done in Java)
Technical Interview
Approximately 40–50 students were shortlisted for this round.
Questions asked during my technical interview included:
- Tell me about yourself.
- Explain the four pillars of OOP with examples.
- What is a static method?
- Describe the different types of constructors in Java.
- Explain aggregation in SQL.
- Discuss React props and state.
- What is the difference between an abstract class and an interface?
- Explain BFS and DFS along with their workings.
- What is time complexity, and what are the different types?
- Explain the merge sort algorithm.
After this, I had the opportunity to ask some questions to the interviewer .
Managerial Interview
Questions asked during my managerial interview included:
- Explain your favourite project (use STAR method) (discussion lasted around 10 minutes).
- Talk about your hobbies (discussion lasted around 10 minutes).
- Discuss extracurricular activities mentioned in my resume (discussion lasted 10–15 minutes).
- Did you participate in any corporate internships? (I had only completed an in-house internship within my college).
I also asked some questions to the interviewer during this round (discussion lasted 10–15 minutes).
HR Interview
Questions asked during my HR interview included:
- What is your family background?
- Why did you choose Pune instead of your hometown?
- What are some things you liked and disliked about your college?
- Describe a situation where you held a leadership position.
- What qualities should a leader possess?
- Additional HR-related questions.
I concluded the HR interview by asking some questions of my own.
Conclusion
Ultimately, 8 students were selected, and I was fortunate enough to be one of them. Overall, the interview process was friendly and had a moderate level of difficulty.
Important Tip
Make sure to showcase something unique about yourself or your experiences that the interviewer will remember .
