Persistent Systems Interview Experience (Martian Program)

It is an on-campus Summer Internship Programme offered by Persistent for final-year students starting from the month of May onward.

The key objectives of the program are -

1. Equip with industry-aligned knowledge
2. Help fulfill the industry training or internship need of academia
3. Enable further opportunities for qualified learners

Selection criteria for the Internship and other details:

• Minimum percentage requirement in 10th / 12th/ UG - 60% above
• Graduation: BE/ B.Tech 3rd year candidates from Computer Science(CS) and Information Technology (IT) stream only can apply
• Duration: 5 weeks learning journey (Tentative start date: 2nd May)
• Designation: Intern
• Stipend: NIL
• Internship Mode: Virtual
•  PPO: Post internship students will undergo assessment followed by a technical interview based on which PPO will be released.

I'm selected to go through a 5 weeks virtual internship with Persistent. Throughout this internship program, Persistent Systems focuses on strengthening its foundation. They will get access to online learning resources, live sessions with our tech experts, and a platform to collaborate with their peers during their learning journey.

Selection Process for the Internship:

Round 1: Cognitive + Coding L2 L3

Test Duration: 1 hr. 45 minutes (1 hr. for the aptitude section and 45 minutes to solve 2 coding questions and Candidates can choose their preferred language to code). The exam was conducted on the SHL platform.

Selected candidates are eligible for the next steps...

Throughout the internship program Persistent covered the following subjects:

1. Data Structures and Algorithms
2. Computer Networks
3. Python Programming Language 
4. Operating Systems
5. Database Management System(DBMS)

After completing the internship candidate will get an internship certificate.

For PPO:

Round 1: Coding

Test Duration: 45 minutes (2 coding questions and Candidates can choose their preferred language to code). The exam was conducted on the SHL platform.

Round 2: Technical Interview-1

After the completion of the Coding exam, I was selected for the next round which was Technical Interview-1. The overall duration of the technical interview-1 was 35 to 40 minutes. The expert was very humble. The Interview was conducted on the SHL platform.

The expert asked me the following questions:

1. Tell me about yourself.
2. What is your favorite subject?
3. What is Computer Networking
4. Difference between HUB and Switch
5. What is the application of HUB?
6. What is your favorite programing language and why?
7. What is the difference between OOP and SOP?
8. What is a copy constructor?
9. He asks me to write a basic program
10. Do you have any questions for me?

Round 3: Technical Interview-2

After the completion of the Technical Interview-1, I was selected for the next round which was Technical Interview-2. The overall duration of the technical interview-2 was 25 to 30 minutes. The expert was very humble. The Interview was conducted on the SHL platform.

The expert asked me the following questions:

1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Expert share a code editor and give me a coding problem to solve. 
3. Do you have any questions for me?

Round 4: HR Interview 

After the completion of the Technical Interview-2, I was selected for the next round which was HR Interview. The overall duration of the HR  interview was 15 to 20 minutes. The expert was very humble. The Interview was conducted on the SHL platform.

The expert asked me the following questions:

1. Tell me about yourself.
2. What are your strengths?
3. Do you know about Persistent?
4. He explains to me all the responsibilities of the position.
5. Do you have any questions for me?

After the HR interview, I received the final selection result.
