I recently interviewed for the role of Graduate Engineering Trainee at Pratt and Whitney as a fresh graduate in October 2024. The selection process took place on campus at NMIT, Bangalore, and consisted of three rounds.
Verdict: Selected
The first round was an online assessment comprising verbal, analytical, and numerical sections. It consisted of 20 questions in each section, totaling 60 questions to be completed in 60 minutes. After this round, I received an email notifying me that I had been shortlisted for the interview round.
The second round was conducted on-campus and focused on technical skills. It began with a brief introduction from both myself and the interviewer, who explained the work of software engineers at the company. The interviewer then presented two coding questions for me to solve on his computer, both of which were at an easy level.
Following the coding questions, I was asked about the basics of cloud computing and AWS, as well as questions related to Selenium, which I had mentioned in my resume. The interviewer also posed scenario-based questions regarding the constraints to consider when building web applications. It was crucial to have a strong understanding of my projects and the tech stack used in them.
Additionally, I answered some basic general questions about DBMS. Itβs important to be well-versed in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, or C++.
After completing this round, I was informed that I would proceed to the next stage.
The final round was an HR interview, where I was asked general questions about my knowledge of the company and its operations. The interviewer also inquired about information not included in my resume.
