TCS Interview Experience for Digital Profile

Last Updated : 6 Apr, 2026

Candidate Information:

  • Status: Fresher, seeking full-time opportunities | Final year Integrated M.Tech (IT) | Target: TCS Digital Trainee
  • Location: Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India
  • Interview Date: March 30, 2025

Overview of Interview Process:

  • Initial Screening (NQT — March 20)
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Method: In-person (CBT)
  • Focus: Aptitude, Verbal, Reasoning, Coding
  • Key Questions: Two coding problems — Fibonacci-based and one other
  • Obstacles: Quantitative section was tougher than expected. Solved 7/7 on coding Q1, 4/7 on Q2

Technical Round (TR)

  • Duration: ~20-25 minutes
  • Method: In-person
  • Focus: Core Java, Spring Boot, Projects, Internship

Key Questions:

  • Code Fibonacci sequence in a range
  • Explain your internship — role and day to day responsibilities
  • What was your role in your Spring Boot Billing Software project?
  • Spring lifecycle
  • What is Dependency Injection?
  • Object vs Reference
  • Abstract class vs Interface
  • Real life example of Abstract class usage
  • What are REST APIs?
  • PUT vs POST
  • Obstacles: Forgot to print the result in the Fibonacci code. Recovered by explaining the logic clearly when asked.

Managerial Round (MR)

  • Duration: ~15-20 minutes
  • Method: In-person
  • Focus: Soft skills, career intent, internship learnings

Key Questions:

  • Tell me about yourself
  • What did you learn at your internship beyond technical skills?
  • Any chance of PPO at current internship?
  • If you get a PPO which would you choose — current company or TCS?
  • TCS is strictly on-site, are you okay with that?
  • Any questions from your side?
  • Obstacles: PPO question had a follow-up trap — they pushed even after I said no PPO possibility. Stayed composed and answered honestly.

Post-Interview Reflections:

  • Company Culture Insights: Both panelists were calm and approachable. The atmosphere felt more like a conversation than a formal interrogation. Supportive energy throughout.
  • Work Environment: TCS Indore campus. Well organized. Clear process for attendance, doc verification, and panel assignment.
  • Benefits Highlight: On-site work culture discussed. Location preferences considered but not guaranteed.
  • Evaluator Feedback: TR seemed satisfied with technical answers. MR was probing but fair — tested composure more than knowledge.
  • Suggestions for Improvement: The wait time before panel assignment was around an hour. Better time slot management could help reduce candidate anxiety.

Additional Information:

  • Shortlisting mail received on 27th March, interview confirmed on 28th, held on 30th — very tight turnaround
  • Result received on 3rd April
  • Selected as Ninja Trainee (had applied and interviewed for Digital profile)

Closing Note:

Overall a really positive experience for a fresher. The panel was genuine and made me feel comfortable. Got Ninja instead of Digital which was unexpected, but it's still a foot in the door. Not giving up on the Digital goal yet.
