The TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT) was the first step in my journey to secure the Ninja profile at TCS. Here's a detailed breakdown of my experience, from registration to the final result.

1. Registration for TCS NQT

The process began with registering for the TCS NQT, a national-level exam for recruitment across campuses. The test consisted of several sections:

  • Aptitude: Basic math and reasoning questions.
  • Verbal Ability: Grammar, comprehension, and vocabulary.
  • Advanced Aptitude and Reasoning: More complex logical reasoning problems.
  • Coding: Two programming challenges: one based on simple mathematics and another on array indexing.

I managed to solve 1.5 coding problems and a substantial portion of the aptitude questions. Based on my performance, I was shortlisted for the Ninja profile.

2. Shortlisting for Ninja Profile

After clearing the TCS NQT, I was called for the interview process, which included three rounds:

  • Technical Round (combined with Managerial Round).
  • HR Round (conducted separately).

3. Technical + Managerial Round

This combined round focused on assessing my technical knowledge, project experience, and career aspirations.

SQL and Coding:

  • I was asked to write basic SQL queries and solve simple coding problems.
  • The problems were straightforward and aligned with the skills I had mentioned in my resume, such as basic algorithms and data structures.

Skills Check:

  • The interviewers cross-verified the tools, technologies, and programming languages I had listed on my resume.
  • A key takeaway: Be honest about your skills. Overstating your abilities can lead to difficulties if asked to elaborate on unfamiliar technologies.

Future Vision and Career Goals:

They asked about my long-term career aspirations, including where I see myself in a few years and my plans to grow in AI and ML.

4. HR Round

  • The HR round was focused on assessing my personality, adaptability, and alignment with TCS values.

Key Questions:

  • Why do you want to work at TCS?
  • How do you handle challenges and pressure?
  • Are you willing to relocate or work in different locations if required?

They also shared insights about TCS's work culture, values, and expectations for the Ninja profile.

5. Interview Result

After completing all the rounds, I was informed of my selection for the Ninja profile. The entire process was thorough and fair, with the interviewers showing genuine interest in my skills and knowledge.
