On July 6th, 2024, I had the opportunity to interview for the TCS Prime role, a position I was excited about after successfully clearing the NQT. The interview process was rigorous and insightful, providing me with an invaluable experience in the world of technology.
The interview was conducted by a panel of three individuals who asked questions collectively. It began with an introduction, where I unfortunately stumbled, but I quickly regained my composure and moved forward. The interview then progressed into the technical domain, with questions covering cybersecurity, cloud computing, and general computer science concepts.
One of the initial topics was Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), where I was asked to write code for a linked list. This was followed by a question on JDBC, given that Java is my core language. I was asked to write code to connect Java with a database, a task I handled with confidence.
The panel delved into the nuances of authorization and authentication processes, emphasizing the importance of software security. We discussed various methods to ensure safety and prevent vulnerabilities. Additionally, they asked detailed questions on SQL, including topics like assertions and triggers. The conversation also touched on operating systems, with inquiries about the ones I have worked with.
The technical portion of the interview lasted approximately 40 to 45 minutes, after which the HR representative took over. The HR questions were centered around time management and the importance of the training period. They explained that if I were to leave during training, I would be required to pay a certain amount.
Interestingly, the interview did not touch upon my projects, which I had prepared to discuss in detail. Nonetheless, the experience was a valuable learning curve, and I left the interview with a deeper understanding of my strengths and areas for improvement.
In conclusion, while I didn't succeed this time, the interview was a fulfilling experience that tested my knowledge and resilience. I am grateful for the opportunity to showcase my skills, learn from the process, and prepare for future challenges.
