Tech Mahindra conducts a structured and elimination-based on-campus recruitment process for freshers. I am sharing my complete experience to help students understand what to expect and how to prepare for each round.
Overview of the Selection Process
The Tech Mahindra on-campus hiring process consists of multiple elimination rounds, conducted in two phases:
Each round is eliminatory, meaning only qualified candidates move forward.
The first round is an online test that checks a candidate’s basic problem-solving and communication skills.
It includes:
This round tests speed, accuracy, and clarity of fundamentals. Only candidates who qualify this round are allowed to proceed to the next stage.
Candidates who clear the first round are immediately moved to the essay writing round.
This round evaluates:
The essay topics are usually general or technology-related. Clear and structured writing is more important than complex vocabulary.
The third round is a technical assessment that includes two coding questions.
This round checks:
Only candidates who clear this round are shortlisted.
All three rounds are eliminatory and conducted on the same day.
After successfully clearing all three online rounds, shortlisted candidates receive an interview call letter after approximately 15 days.
The interviews are conducted offline at the Tech Mahindra office.
The technical interview is resume-based and focuses on core computer science concepts.
Topics asked include:
Interviewers mainly check conceptual understanding and clarity, not deep advanced coding.
The HR round focuses on personality, communication, and flexibility.
Common questions include:
This round checks whether the candidate is a good cultural and professional fit for the company.
Candidates who clear both the Technical and HR rounds are selected.
The entire process is well-organized and focuses on fundamentals, communication skills, and attitude.
Tech Mahindra’s on-campus recruitment process is fair, systematic, and beginner-friendly. With strong fundamentals, clear communication, and confidence, freshers can successfully clear all rounds.
This experience-based overview will help students prepare better and face the process confidently.
