Walmart Codehers

Status: New Grad, B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics from Tier 3

MCQ Challenge : On Feb 19, 2024, I took the MCCQ challenge, a 25-minute test with 25 questions covering topics like C, Data Structures, Algorithms, Machine Learning, Java, DBMS and OOPS.

Coding Challenge : On Feb 26, 2024, I took the coding challenge, in which participants required to solve two problem statements within 90 minutes, allowing solutions in any programming language and here again the score was calculated based on the number of test cases passed and the time taken to solve.

Profile verification : In this round, I have submitted my college name, CGPA, location preference(Bangalore/Chennai) and asked to show the ID card on the camera.

Note: Most of the interviews will happen in descending order of scores until all the open positions are filled for the 2024 batch. Hence, there might be some students who may not be interviewed basis the open positions.

Because of the above note, my interviews got delayed and they didn't scheduled interviews for over one month and I lost hopes and got another opportunity from SWIGGY and joined. Again on Aug 8 2024, 11 :24 pm ,I received a mail from recruiter, that they were hiring for Software Engineer II through "Codehers" - coding event conducted by Walmart.

Basic Programming and CS Fundamentals(45 Minutes) 24 August 2024 :

• OOPS concepts with real time examples
• Multi threading, Threads and Process Differences
• C++ vs Java differences , Java vs Java script
• Why there are no pointers in java?
• Internal working of HashMap
• Java Garbage Collection and Exception Handling, Differences between Final, Finally and Finalize
• Difference between sleep() and wait()
• Difference between this and super keyword
• Method Overloading and Method Overriding
• In how many ways, we can create an object in java ?
• Serialization and Deserialization
• Reverse the words in a given String (Only Java/ C ++)
• Find duplicate elements in an array

Some questions related to current work experience and projects and the interview lasted up to 1 hour 15 mins.

DS Algo, Problem Solving, Languages (45 minutes) 14 October 2024:

Quick Intro and he asked me one simple question , Difference between RAM and ROM and then jumped into DS

• Longest Substring without repeating characters in "walmartglobaltech"
• Check if a Binary tree is BST or not ?

• Java spring boot questions because I mentioned it in my project
• Some questions related to current work experience

This round lasted around 1 hour.

Hiring Manager Round (30 minutes) 17 October 2024 :

He was 20 years experienced and He was from Pricing team, He gave a quick intro about him and about the team. The final stage involved a 45-minute conversation with the Hiring Manager, where the emphasis shifted towards personal and behavioral aspects. We delved into discussions about my current work experience and what is the role of me in the current project that i am working, extracurricular activities, hypothetical scenarios, and articulated my motivations for seeking employment at Walmart.
