ZOHO Interview Experience For Software Developer Internship (On-Campus)

Last Updated : 22 May, 2024

Position: Software Developer

Work location: Chennai

Eligibility Criteria: We do not have any criteria, students from any stream/department (UG/PG) even with Backlogs can appear for the test. Passion towards programming is our only criterion. (exact criteria given by ZOHO).

Day - 01

Round - 01:

  • 20 Questions in 75 mins. For me, there was enough time to spare, and I completed the test in just 40 minutes.
  • 10 Aptitude + 10 Programming questions fill in the blanks that are no choice given.
  • Aptitude questions were Below the Intermediate Level.
  • Programming questions include deriving the output for the particular code snippet.
  • These were mainly C and Java code snippets which involved Recursion & Complex loops.
  • You can practice for these objective-type questions online.

Notes:

  • Please prepare for Aptitude questions I simply made a silly mistake for a question.
  • " How many times do minute and hour hands overlap in 24 hours? "
  • Correct Ans: 22
  • My dumb Brain: 23
  • Generally, Zoho programming questions have twisted pointer questions so prepare for the pointer concept.

Round - 02:

  • There were 5 easy-to-use to medium programming questions that you may solve with your preferred programming language.
  • 5 questions in 1 hour and 45 mins.
  • After solving each problem we have to report to the Zoho faculty and explain him.
  • Upon hearing your approach they will be providing you with some insights and ask you to update the code.

Notes:

  • What I found interesting is that, unlike 1st round, round 2 has its influence till the final Interview.
  • Hence solve as many problems as you can and also make sure u have explained your code to the faculty in the best manner possible.
  • There they used a sheet for every candidate to track their coding performance that is every time u solve a problem they assess your code with its efficiency, understanding and how you can comprehend the faculty.
  • According to this, they will be noting it to the list.

Day - 02:

Round - 03:

  • 2 Command line Application design questions in 3 hours.
  • Though normally they ask questions like a train booking system, food ordering system and so on...
  • The problems we faced are quite different.
  • Though I cannot disclose the exact question I can say one question involves an external .csv file and asks to perform certain tasks based on some 5 queries of the user's choice.

Notes:

  • As same as round 2, they will be noting your coding performance as well.
  • Even if you weren't able to solve all the problems keep on working or at least act as if you were up to something.

Round - 04:

  • Most unpredictable interview round with technical hr + general hr.
  • The only hope of clearing this round is based on three things.
  • They are "Java Knowledge with OOPs and Threading concepts", "Absolutely good Resume", and "Communication Skills".
  • Make sure u don't make a bad impression.
  • Don't include what you don't know in your Resume.
  • Don't include Irrelevant things in your Resume.
  • Hope your Resume is not blank.

Finally, all of the recruiters who came to our college were extremely good and easy to approach. To my surprise, I got selected for this Internship.
