DRDO ,Delhi Work Experience as a Research Intern

An internship plays an important role for every graduate, both academically and professionally. As it leads to practical experience, skill development, career exploration, and much more.

It was an on-campus opportunity. As selection for an internship was only based on my resume. There were no further rounds, tests, or interviews. My six-month experience at DRDO and SSPL as a research intern had an insightful impact on my career.

DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization) is an agency under the Ministry of Defence in India. It is responsible for researching and developing products related to defence and security.

Being a six-month intern at DRDO, SSPL Lab, I worked on image processing and digital video processing. I have to remove the uniformities from the video output of the data that is extracted from the infrared camera. I have used Matlab to execute the code, in which some inbuilt functions are used for image processing to remove non-uniformity from the data. Further calibration and scene-based techniques are used to get the desired result.

This internship has led me to upskill myself as I had never worked on image processing algorithms and MATLAB.
