As I sit down to reflect on my journey at Siemens Technology and Services Pvt Ltd, Joining this esteemed organization in July 2023 marked the beginning of a new chapter in my career, filled with anticipation and eagerness to contribute to groundbreaking projects and innovations. Little did I know then, that the road ahead would be strewn with unexpected twists and turns.
The first hurdle I encountered was the probation period, a standard procedure in many organizations, including Siemens. First, the probation period was for 6 months then again the new offer letter came in which probation was extended for 1 year from DOJ. Each day felt like a test, a chance to prove my worth and secure my place within the Siemens family.
However, what added to the challenge was the lack of project allocation during this crucial phase. Despite my enthusiasm and readiness to dive into meaningful work, I found myself on the bench, with only a handful of proof-of-concepts (POCs) to occupy my time. It was disheartening, to say the least, as I yearned for opportunities to showcase my skills and make a tangible impact.
To exacerbate matters, communication from management regarding project assignments was scarce and often ambiguous. Every inquiry met with vague responses or promises of imminent allocations that never materialized. It felt like navigating through a maze of uncertainty, with no clear path ahead.
In August, however, I was provided a training program on Full Stack Java. Shortly thereafter, I was assigned to delve into Mendix, a low-code application development platform(a Siemens product). While initially daunting, the opportunity to explore a new technology sparked a newfound curiosity within me. I embraced the challenge wholeheartedly, immersing myself in Mendix's capabilities and pushing the boundaries of my expertise. Just when I began to get to know-how of Mendix, a sudden shift occurred as Python (Flask) was assigned to me. This unexpected pivot tested my adaptability and versatility, requiring me to swiftly transition from one technology to another. Yet, instead of viewing it as a setback, I embraced it as an opportunity to broaden my skill set and diversify my expertise.
As I look towards the future, I do so with renewed optimism and determination, knowing that the trials of the past have only strengthened my resolve. I am ready to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.
