• How long does it take to switch, and will my payments be interrupted?

  You can be up and running in minutes. Because Helcim has no monthly fees or sign-up costs, we recommend setting up your account before you cancel your old provider. This ensures a "zero-downtime" transition. If you have existing customer or card data, our Merchant Success team can migrate it for you in 5–10 business days so you don't lose a single recurring payment.

• Will my current hardware work with Helcim?

  Proprietary hardware from providers like Clover or Square is typically locked to their network. If you're switching to Helcim but are locked into a contract or lease for your current hardware, you may qualify for our Merchant Buyout Program. We offer up to $500 in processing credits to help cover the cost of switching.

• How do "Wholesale" (Interchange Plus) rates actually save me money?

  Flat-rate processors charge you the same high price for every card, even "cheap" debit cards. Helcim passes the direct cost from the card brands and banks (Interchange) straight to you and only adds a small, transparent margin on top. As your volume grows, your margin automatically decreases—meaning you don't have to call us to negotiate a better deal; it’s built into the system. Typically businesses processing higher transaction sizes and monthly volumes see savings of 25% on average with this model.

  The only time Interchange Plus pricing may not save you money is if you have frequent low transaction amounts like a coffee shop, or your business processes less popular, higher costing rewards cards like corporate AMEX or Mastercards. • Are there any monthly, PCI, or "hidden" fees for Helcim merchant services?

  No. You only pay when you process a transaction. Helcim has no monthly fees, no PCI compliance fees, and no subscription taxes that eat your margins. If you don't process a dime in a month, you don't pay a dime.

• Is Helcim merchant service and data migration secure?

  Helcim is a PCI Level 1 Merchant Service Provider (the highest level of security in the industry). When we migrate your data, it is handled via secure, encrypted vaults. • What is Helcim payment processing time?

  For no extra cost all Helcim merchants are eligible for next business day deposits. As long as your bank supports RTP or FedNow networks (in the US) or Interac e-transfer (in Canada) you will automatically receive Faster Deposits. For merchants whose banks are not supported, transactions will appear in your bank account within 1-3 business days, depending on the time of day that your transactions are settled. Transactions processed over the weekend or bank holidays are initialized for deposit on the following business day.

• What type of funding options does Helcim offer?

  Helcim offers both gross and net deposit options to business owners. Those preferring gross deposits will have total sales deposited directly into their bank account, with processing fees deducted as a separate line item on the same day. This ensures accurate daily revenue and cash flow data so you always know exactly how much you've earned and what's available. Those who prefer net deposits will only see the sale minus processing fees deposited directly into the account. By default all merchants signing up to Helcim will be on gross deposits but can switch to net deposits if they choose.
