Problem summary

  • A small throughput of regression of 1-2% might be observed in
    Java 8 SR5 when shared class cache is turned on by using option
    '-Xshareclasses' in the java command. This is caused by changes
    to internal String implementation.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The JIT has been improved to recover the lost performance
    .
    This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
     8 SR5 FP5 (8.0.5.5)
