Error description
Error Message: N/A . Stack Trace: N/A . On zOS, the default LineFeed character provided by JNI NewStringPlatform() is '\u0085'. When the data from zOS is processed on distributed platforms, the LineFeed becomes invalid as the LineFeed on distributed platform is '\u000A'
Local fix
Problem summary
JNI on zOS uses ICONV which uses LineFeed character as '\u0085'. However, distributed platforms did not recognize '\u0085' as LineFeed which resulted in the failure.
Problem conclusion
JDK has been updated to provide a flag as environment variable USE_JAVA_CONV which can switch between ICONV and Java conveters so that it can use LineFeed character as '\u000A' with Java converter while communicating with distributed platforms. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR5 FP15 (8.0.5.15) . Contact your IBM Product's Service Team for these Service Refreshes and Fix Packs. For those running stand-alone, information about the available Service Refreshes and Fix Packs can be found at: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/
