Error description
Error Message: A segfault is received from in JIT compiled code. It attempted to branch to an invalid address. . Stack Trace: . The crash only happens with HCR mode (hot code replacement) enabled. The crash has only been seen on Power platform.
Local fix
In order to avoid this issue it is necessary to remove the Java agents from the server.
Problem summary
The problem is caused by incorrect HCR patching. On Power the test for valid patch targets was incomplete.
Problem conclusion
The JIT has been updated to prevent incorrect HCR patching. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 7 SR9 (7.0.9.0) 8 SR1 (8.0.1.0) 6 R1 SR10 (6.1.10.0) 7 R1 SR3 (7.1.3.0) .
