• Using -Xnoaot will prevent the memory leak from occurring.
  

Problem summary

• Under the -Xshareclasses option, the JIT allocates a resource at
  thread creation time that is never freed resulting in a slow but
  unbounded memory leak.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT has been fixed to free the allocated resource at the
  appropriate time.
