Problem summary

• The JIT compiler applied a fine grain optimization as part of
  its loop optimizing strategies. In this case, for overall method
  performance, it decreased it more than it increased it.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT compiler has been modified to avoid applying this
  optimization in this case.
