IV95153: BIN/IKEYCMD SCRIPT DOESN'T PRESERVE SHELL TOKENIZATION

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: Too many values for parameter '-dn' were
    specified: <OSB>cn=Foo, Bar<CSB>
    .
    Stack Trace: N/A
    .

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Steps/script to recreate problem:
jre/bin/ikeycmdn -keydb -create -db /tmp/temp.jks -pw test
sh -x jre/bin/ikeycmd -cert -create -db /tmp/temp.jks -pw test
    -dn "cn=Foo Bar"
    + dirname jre/bin/ikeycmd
    + jre/bin/java -ms8m com.ibm.gsk.ikeyman.ikeycmd -cert -create
-db /tmp/temp.jks -pw test -dn cn=Foo Bar
Too many values for parameter '-dn' were specified: <OSB>cn=Foo,
    Bar<CSB>
Remove the excess parameters and try again.

Problem conclusion

  • The parameter is split into two tokens when passed along because
bin/ikeycmd does not use the idiomatic "$@" to preserve
tokenization. Same issue with bin/iKeyman script.
