APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Error Message: Segmentation error
  .
  Stack Trace: OMR::ValuePropagation::findOutEdge
  TR::GlobalValuePropagation::processBlock
  ...
  .
  This issue only occurs on systems with transactional memory.
  

Local fix

• The issue can be avoided by passing -Xjit:disableTLE. This
  option may degrade performance, but it can be limited to the
  problematic method.
  

Problem summary

• In rare circumstances the JIT compiler could misconstrue the
  control flow effect of a transaction start operation, and
  attempt to find a nonexistent control flow edge.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT compiler has been modified so that in these
  circumstances it only considers valid control flow edges.
