Installation Instructions

Attention: Upgrading from version 1.7.x to 1.8.x may be blocked since some platforms are no longer supported by Installation Manager 1.8.x. The 1.7.4.7 release is for specific platforms that are no longer supported by Java7-based applications (such as Installation Manager v1.8.x), and includes:
  • RHEL 4
  • Ubuntu 8.04
  • Solaris 9.0
  • AIX 5.3
  • iSeries 6.1

On platforms that are supported by Installation Manager v1.8.x, users on Mac OSX, HPUX, z/OS, and Windows platforms should upgrade to 1.8.6.1 per Installation Manager 1.8.6.1.

Installation Manager versions are released as both fix packs and installer packages.

  • Use the installer packages when you are installing Installation Manager for the first time.
