Unstable Susan (Barbara Hershey) is tragically widowed and finds it impossible to care for her delinquent adolescent daughter, Nicki. Her son, Billy (Reid Scott), takes his sister in, implementing his own method of treatment for Niki’s mental troubles. When turmoil persists, he must reconcile his beliefs with what actually may be best for his sister. Sister addresses the polemic issue of youth psychotropic drug prescription with restraint and sensitivity.
