"Hyvin omituinen neuvostoleffa kansantarumaista fantasia"kauhua". Kirkkokohtaukset noidan kanssa ovat kaikki ihan mahtavaa settiä: mielikuvituksellista kuvakikkailua ja hulvatonta häröilyä. Ongelma on vaan siinä, että nämä kohtaukset ovat melko lyhyitä, ja suuri osa elokuvasta on enimmäkseen vain fillerintuntuista pohjustusta niille. Näinpä leffa tuntuu lyhyellä 77 minuutin kestollaankin ylipitkältä. Paremmin homma toimisi max 45 minuutin kestolla. Mutta eipä tästä pitämättä "

“To be honest, I really had no idea what to expect from this flick and the main reason why I wanted to watch it was because it was included in the '1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die' list.
