8/30/18 10:41 am - Neglecty McNeglecterson

Damn I've been pretty freakin' neglectful of my entries considering how much has happened since my last post. I mean...nothing that life-changing or anything. It's not like I've gone on any DATES or anything. But I did set my uncle up on one! Ahh what to write about...first a moment to make sure I'm not repeating a past entry...........

.OK

The Brewfest in July was ok, but didn't feel as fun as last year. I didn't get randomly hit on by any ladies (though maybe that's a good thing). Sean came up, but he was kinda not as fun to hang out with as usual. His OCD is just...really abrasive at times. I know he can't help it, but when you add that to when you're having a bad hangover, it's not a good mix. Still, lots of amazing beer was tasted, as usual VT is in no short supply of good beer. Fortunately, my apartment is probably half a mile from a giant beverage warehouse with over 1400+ types of beer. Needless to say, I'm drinking more beer than I have in months. And you know what? I'm ok with that considering the quality.

I've had many more guests since July. After Sean/Brewfest, my good college buddy Eric came up and we had a BLAST over the weekend. We played a ton of golf, watched some minor league baseball (Go Lake Monsters!) and hiked Camel's Hump! That was a tough hike, but super rewarding when we finished it. We also took a dip in Warren Falls and it was awesome as usual. That was just a fun weekend all around. Eric is a true guy friend, he doesn't care about anything and loves to be outside. Great friend to spend time with, glad I'm going to see him when I go down to visit next month.

My parents came up shortly after...we drove around south of the city exploring some local farms and I took them to Warren falls, but they didn't appreciate it. A little too outdoorsy for their taste. I think they still had fun driving around though. My dad really wanted to go to Northfield where he lived while he was getting his Master's at St. Mike's and we didn't go. I regret that. But they might be coming up this weekend so maybe I can make it up to him. Also his birthday is coming up and I need to finish his present. Was going to get him a gift card for a book store, but mom says he has too many books. Maybe I'll get him something from St. Mike's since I live across the street from it and that's where he went to grad school.

All the meanwhile, the lady I mentioned making friends with at Sailing Camp? Yea she totally ended up hooking up with my uncle. It took them some time to start communicating since my Uncle is not a big text-er and Jeanine is, but by god she got him texting! He eventually made his way up and they apparently had a really good time exploring Burlington and all that good stuff. They were a little more...shall we say...sharing about their bedroom activities than I was comfortable with, but I think I was pretty good about setting down a boundary there. Funcle came up the next weekend too and we had a good time all hanging out together. I even took Jeanine golfing and got to explore another golf course in my area.

Last weekend, I invited my ski buddy Way to come up. Bit of a mistake, she operates at a HIGH SPEED which I'm not used to outside the setting of a ski area. She's also pretty demanding with her activities and basically dictated the entire weekend, which I think would be ok if you're hanging out with someone who doesn't have stuff in mind to do. But I'm kinda not that type of person so we spent the entire weekend doing what she wanted to do, which was meh. I'm starting to understand that she has some kind of weird ADD where she has to exercise to excess in order to calm the f down. It makes sense since she can't drink and doesn't get any effects from cannabis. Sux, I'd hate to live that way. I'm pretty active, but I'm also able to calm down. But enough on that...

I'm still working on meeting new people up here. But I'm making progress towards that tonight! Going to a VT Pride Center pot luck, my first event with the Pride center. So far, I get the impression that the Pride Center is a little bit ghetto...but I think that's the case in any place with a smaller gay community (aka most places). But hey, just gotta keep putting myself out there!
