I love how KSK is making Stafford a regular occurance on their site. Maybe he'll be only slightly less popular than Laserface or the Sex Cannon.

I've got girl issues. Said girl I am dating lives with her ex still (separate bedrooms) as she's just completed grad school and looking for a job. Her ex cannot afford rent alone and lease is not up til January. Also, her ex is not a guy. Help me count the red flags.

Other than that, still looking for a new pair of glasses and thinking about going back to the Rivers Cuomo special, counting down the days until football is a regular staple of my television watching and looking foward to Sick Puppies coming in a few weeks.

Attention McDonald's Corporation:

A special on the Travel Channel about a few specialty versions of your restaurant does not make up for the thousands upon thousands of the regular shitty versions that are far more prevalent around the world.

Yeah, I get that this program was probably filmed 3 years ago and I've just seen it. ANYWAY, I've got women problems in the form of a girl I really dig and who really digs me, has to take things slow on a ridiculous level. Maybe I need to change my behavior in this area as well. Picking up the random at Five Season's or Village Tavern probably isn't good for me or the best way to form a healthy relationship. I'm sure I'll figure this out as soon as I find out where I stand. If not, back to, well, somewhere else.

[Current Music |Toucher and Rich Podcast]

Talking to a few relatives over the past week, I've realized that I'm definitely happier not living within 20 miles of 95% of my family. Speaking with a cousin that lives in Breckinridge, he basically told me that if hadn't left Chicago, he probably would have overdosed several more times over the course of his short life. I'm all for family get celebrations and what not, but I've realized that I'm not the kind of person who enjoys doing nothing except bitching about the world, being drunk in the annoying way and being general curmudgeons.

My mom and I even had a convo today about how I don't enjoy family vacations. Its not that I don't enjoy the time at the beach or mountains or wherever. It just doesn't let me escape like a vacation should. I know she understands the concept, just not the execution. My sister and I talked when they returned from Hawaii and she told me she gets why I don't like family vacations. Granted, even my 11 year old niece says that Katie was a brat the whole time...

I explained to my mom tonight that vacations with my friends are more relaxing because I know that they aren't going to have a 2 hour talk/argument with them about how I'm not doing enough things right in my life and that I'm happy with visiting for a few hours a week.

Other than that, the SlumOscars are on.

So I just went in the Wendy's Drive-Thru. Assuming he didn't just pick up a second job, the former manager from the Bank of America I go to by work just gave me a baconator value meal.

Radio shows are always a cluster. And in smaller/mid-markets, they are usually booked poorly as well. Cause you know the Toadies should be in the middle of the show and Saving Abel who has a top 5 single should be playing after local contest winner (a ska band that played covers a la Reel Big Fish). It was funny watching 3 really drunk dudes yell at the healthy portion of the crowd who left after Shinedown (2nd to last) before Puddle of Mudd. The guys had never seen POD before and were amazed how good they were (even when they were playing non-hits or new songs off the album). But who got left with the bar tab in Los Angeles? Actually, I think Avenged Sevenfold did...ANYWAY, we were amazed that people stayed at the club til 3 AM for the after party. I won $50 at the same routlette table Todd from 3 Doors Down signed. Good times.

Spent much of the weekend drunk though. Which is fine as long as I'm not buying.

Yeah, the fun kind of rock shows locally.

Thursday July 10th
10 High, Atlanta, GA
Motley Crude
10 PM, 21+, $8

Saturday, July 12th
Club 104, Cartersville, GA
10 PM, 18+, $5
probably with 3 shitty bands who have no discernable songs/talent

I've decided that a haircut, chicken wings and movies are how I shall spend my Friday night. And beer. Can't forget the beer. Instead of rock shows 9 hours away.

Thinking about upcoming summer events and how I would rather just stay away from anything resembling a pool or beach. Maybe its because the only influences in my life right now are Dan Patrick and Kinky Friedman.

Who knew that there would be heavy traffic driving through Washington D.C. on Memorial Day weekend?

Baltimore has a small area of their downtown next to Camden Yards that is a perfect for post game parties or general party time. Its kinda like Underground Atlanta, except it doesn't suck. Stephen coined the phrase "overtinkle". As usual, one of the other bands on the bill was from California. And running late.

Onto NYC, for an interview at SIRIUS with Kayla (not her real name) and drinking. She was realy cool and Jack was the only one to say fuck during the interview. Lucia, our booking agent (working pro bono for now), took us to a bar that had 100+ beers. It made me remember the days of the Atlanta Beer Garden. Now, the only place with that large of a beer inventory is Taco Mac. Then we went to a Texas themed bar. Make your own joke. Went to La Mela which I do believe is actually owned by a member of the mob. The guys then decided it would be fun to pick me up. Not a feeling I particularly enjoy. Luckily, I was drunk. Driving in there is difficult. Especially in a van, but we were smart enough to drop the trailer at the hotel in the Meadowlands. So throw 8 hours of drinking into the mix and I was able to maneuver the green goblin like a taxi. Off to a bar that Gavin DeGraw owns and the one and only Scott passes out in one of the back booths. Jack and Stu wanted to steal the sharpie I had to write on his face. A night we didn't want to end.

Richmond has a funny smell. But the people at the Canal Club totally make up for it. One of the opening bands had a singer who was better suited to be a comedian who also sang the most random covers ever. City Sleeps cancelled due to a family member death. But the radio ads didn't even mention them. Strange.

I need a haircut.

One of my co-workers actually told our new supervisor that I do a ridiculous amount of work today. Usually she just tells me how bored I look and how I have nothing on desk. Both comments are correct of course. I just prefer a clean workspace as opposed to shit everywhere how she has her area set up. Training for new programs continues. All about becoming 1 UPS or some lame shit.

So I have Indiana Jones, a short trip to NYC and rock shows to look forward to. sidebar: If you haven't seen Iron Man yet, go do so now. I will even go with you cause it is that badass.

Friday, 10 PM
