Announcing the new Work IQ APIs
Now available
These features are now generally available.
- Copilot Cowork brings enterprise‑ready AI for long‑running, complex work into Microsoft 365 Copilot, moving beyond prompts and responses toward execution that unfolds over time. As of June 16, you can automate multi‑step tasks across your work data with new partner plugins, integrated security and governance controls, branded templates, image generation, and more making it even easier for you to get work done.
- Work IQ is a workplace intelligence layer that provides a semantic understanding of everything happening across Microsoft 365, organizational systems, and external sources. You get agent‑ready intelligence, governance, and context in a single platform—helping agents reason, act, and scale more effectively.
- Copilot Notebooks is now rolling out to Copilot Chat users, so you can create shared notebooks and, bring together project content in one workspace—making collaboration broadly accessible. Explore Copilot Notebooks in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app and in OneNote.
- Show employees they're using an approved AI tool by adding your organization's logo to the bottom of the Microsoft 365 Copilot app. It's a simple way to build trust and signal that Copilot is managed by your organization. Set it up in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Cowork 1 will be a secure, fine‑tuned model releasing in the coming weeks, post‑trained to handle Cowork‑specific tasks. This gives you a lower‑cost option for everyday work, while Copilot continues to match each task to the best model and keep your data protected.
Microsoft Scout app
Microsoft Scout introduces a companion desktop app to your personal agent, which enables AI to take action on your local files and across the web, helping you stay ahead and move tasks to completion with less effort.
Copilot Notebooks: Smarter experience for Microsoft 365 Copilot users
Copilot Notebooks for Microsoft 365 users adds richer work data sources, multimodal mobile capture, and new output types like Excel workbooks and infographics to the notebook experience. This helps you bring more complete project context into one place and turn that content into deliverables faster.
Copilot in Word: Legal Agent
Copilot in Word introduces a Legal Agent designed for contract review, redlining, and negotiation using structured legal workflows. Legal teams gain negotiation ready edits, clear citations, and full control through tracked changes—helping maintain consistency, reduce risk, and move faster without leaving Word.
