Wonderful specimen of deep-purple amethyst crystals on matrix from Brandberg, Namibia. The amethysts feature almost everything that made this area famous, the crystals include phantoms, different colour zones and bubble inclusions. A fine piece from a great locality. My collection.

An abandoned tourmaline claim, south of the Brandberg. A local geologist told me that the initial find of nice tourmaline in the pegmatite at that locality triggered a major investment, but there was just that one single pocket, all the money was spent for nothing and the mine owner went broke.
