A cavity filled with brown crystalline Strontianite on the side of a large block underground at the Whitesmith Mine. Sadly this cavity broke into several pieces on attempted extraction - was approx 6cm across.

The specimen is 6 X 4.5 X 4 cm in size with the largest Brewsterite crystal measuring 8 mm. The piece is in fact a Strontianite(light green in color) specimen completely coated by Brewsterite. I aquired it from Peter Briscoe, who collected it on one of his many journeys to the Strontian area.

The specimen is 6 X 4.5 X 4 cm in size with the largest Brewsterite crystal measuring 8 mm. The piece is in fact a Strontianite(light green in color) specimen completely coated by Brewsterite. I aquired it from Peter Briscoe, who collected it on one of his many journeys to the Strontian area.

The sample is 7 cm x 5 cm. White, 2 cm, lusterous Harmotome crystals occur with underlying brown Calcite and minor, 2 mm prismatic colourless Brewsterite in a cleft in gneiss.
