About us
Redefining local rugby
Our games aren't just played—they're experienced, combining thrilling plays with a strong sense of camaraderie. Each match connects with the community, while our unmatched teamwork drives every victory forward.
The Story... so far!
Founded in 2011, NDG Rugby Club has quickly become a cornerstone of the rugby community in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. Our commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a love for the game has led us to achieve remarkable successes, including being crowned the Jeux de Montreal Champions in 2017, 2018, and 2019. We are proud to have been honored as the Borough Team of the Year at the Laureats Sportifs multiple times, including 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
In 2021, our mini’s program (U06 to U12), now in its tenth year, has seen significant growth, registering 108 players from U6 to U16 in 2022—a testament to our engaging environment. That year, our U16 boys also triumphed in both the Raphael Jabbour Memorial Cup and the Quebec U16 Provincial Cup, while two of our players were selected for the Quebec provincial team to compete at the Canada Games.
In 2023, we achieved even greater milestones, with a record 123 players registered. We proudly offered 13 grants, engaged 26 adults in the NDG OLD DRAGONS touch rugby league, and made our mark at the prestigious international rugby 7s tournament in New York. Our annual NDG Dragons jamboree attracted over 400 players from 11 clubs, showcasing the enthusiasm and spirit of our community.
In 2024, the club registered 147 players and 38 adults in Touch Rugby, and awarded 7 grants. The U18 team faced Plymouth, a UK team. Provincial and national selections occurred, participating in the Tampa Bay Sevens tournament with the Quebec team: Elizabeth Bignell for the U16 Girls and Oscar Medina and Arthur Fanton for the U18 Boys, who also attended the U19 Canadian team selection camp. The U18 Dragons participated for the second time in the New York international sevens tournament, introducing a girls’ team this year.
At NDG Rugby Club, our goal is to create a family-friendly environment that offers rugby-based activities for the neighborhoods of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Côte-des-Neiges, Snowdon, and Hampstead. We welcome everyone—players, social members, or simply spectators—to join us at our home field to experience the excitement of the game. Together, we continue to build a vibrant rugby community!
