Opera AI is designed as a right-side assistant for an improved browsing experience. The toolbar placement prevents the assistant from covering page content, avoids accidental closing from misclicks, and keeps AI available in the context of the page you’re viewing. It also lets you use the AI alongside sidebar services (messengers, music) without replacing them.

Image generation is limited to five images per day for accountless users, and 100 images per day for signed-in accounts. Other non-image features remain available without an account, but signing in may unlock higher quotas or additional features in the future.

How do I generate images or upload images for analysis?

To generate an image, describe what you want in the chat input and send the prompt. To have Opera AI analyze images, click the + next to the chat input and upload an image. You can add multiple images to a single prompt and ask questions about them in the conversation.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to open Opera AI?

Yes, you can open Opera AI with the shortcuts Ctrl+O (Windows) and Cmd+O (macOS).

Can I stop Opera AI from accessing the content of a page or tab?

Yes, you can toggle page access on or off in the Opera AI chat interface. If you turn this off, Opera AI will not read the webpage or tab content, or use it as context for answers.

How do I disable the Ask AI button or turn off Opera AI entirely?

Open Easy Setup or Settings (Alt+P) and toggle off Opera AI. This will remove the Ask AI button from the toolbar, disable AI prompt tooltips, and unload Opera AI from the browser.
