AMDVLK 2025.Q2.1 was released today as the first update to this official open-source AMD Vulkan driver since the previous release in mid-March. AMDVLK 2025.Q2.1 brings new hardware support, new Vulkan API extensions, and other new features.

First up, AMDVLK 2025.Q2.1 brings support for Hawk Point 1 and Hawk Point 2 hardware. Hawk Point 1 is for the Ryzen 8000H / 8000HS series hardware finally seeing official AMDVLK driver support. Hawk Point 2 "Hawk Point Refresh" is for the Ryzen 200 series APUs. It was rather late of AMD with their Hawk Point Ryzen 8000H/HS support only coming now to this open-source Vulkan driver but in any case it's here now at least.

New Vulkan API extensions supported by AMDVLK include VK_EXT_image_2d_view_of_3d, VK_EXT_shader_replicated_composites, and VK_KHR_maintenance8. AMDVLK 2025.Q2.1 is built against the Vulkan API 1.4.313 headers and conformance test suite coverage with Vulkan CTS 1.4.1.3.
